According to The Sun, Brand's nickname, given to him by his ex-wife, Perry, was recently revealed by TV personality Piers Morgan.

Morgan recalled that Perry had dubbed the British comedian Rasputin, which is Russian for "debauched one."

The name is also associated with a high-profile man from the 1900s Russian court who was renowned for seducing women.

It is unclear why Perry gave Brand the name, but he did admit that he was "thrilled" by it. The duo first crossed paths in 2009 at the MTV Video Music Awards and quickly became an item. Four months later, they got engaged during a vacation in India and subsequently tied the knot in October 2010.

Their relationship attracted significant public attention but was short-lived. In December 2011, Brand initiated divorce proceedings, citing "irreconcilable differences." The divorce was officially concluded in July 2012.

The revelation about the shocking nickname comes in the wake of Brand facing allegations of sexual assault and rape from different women.

One of his accusers shared that she initially encountered Brand at a party in June 2012, where they exchanged contact information and subsequently engaged in consensual sexual activity at his Los Angeles residence.

On the morning of July 1, 2012, she again met with Brand. However, during this encounter, he proposed that she engage in sexual activity with him and a friend waiting in his bedroom, which she declined. However, when she "tried to get away from him," Brand pushed her to a wall, grabbed at her underwear, and pulled it to the side.

"He's a lot taller than me. And he has that glazed look in his eye again. And I can't move. And I told him, "Get off, get off,"' the alleged victim recalled in an interview with the Times.

She added that Brand did not oblige her request but instead raped her against a wall without a condom.

In response to the accusations, Brand posted a video online where he denied ever committing the alleged acts.

He admitted that during the height of his fame in the acting industry, he was quite a promiscuous person. However, he then affirmed that all sexual interactions were all consensual.

"Now during that time of promiscuity the relationships I had were absolutely, always consensual," he said, per Daily Mail. "I was always transparent about that then, almost too transparent, and I am being transparent about it now as well."

Brand went on to suggest that the entire allegation was targeted at bringing him down due to his highly controversial views.

"To see that transparency metastasized into something criminal, that I absolutely deny, makes me question is there another agenda at play," he added.

In the meantime, Perry has kept mute about the allegations against Brand ever since it began to swirl online.

However, the resurfacing of a 2013 interview where she discussed the end of her marriage seems to hint that there is more about Brand that no one else knows.

"At first when I met him, he wanted an equal, and I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal, and they're like, 'I can't handle the equalness,'" Perry revealed at the time, per Page Six.

She added, "I felt a lot of responsibility for its ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can't necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day. I let go and I was like, 'This isn't because of me; this is beyond me.' So I have moved on from that."
