Thanksgiving is the one time when celebrities show they really are just as normal as everyone else. Zooey Daschanel and Jonathan Scott had an adorable celebration with the Scotts. Gabrielle Union spent Thanksgiving with her family and radiating positivity despite the 'America's Got Talent' drama.
Some celebrities celebrated Thanksgiving less traditionally. Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton feasted on a Funyon turkey inspired by their son. However, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom definitely take the cake for the most unique Thanksgiving plans.
The couple spent the American holiday in Japan. Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and his son, Flynn, sat on pillows and traded in their turkey for a traditional tea ceremony. Katy Perry shared the moment on Instagram placing a sushi emoji over Flynn's face.
"Putting the T in #thanksgiving with a traditional tea ceremony in Kyoto," Perry captioned the pic. "Grateful my family is always up for an adventure."
Orlando Bloom was in Japan for a press tour and the family decided to embrace the culture they were in.
Japan was just as happy to embrace Orlando Bloom. The actor was overwhelmed with the amount of fan letters he received while on his press tour.
"Thanking on thanksgiving," the actor wrote. "so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from my fans, the kindest of souls in #japan. I spent a lot of time today soaking in your beautiful handwritten letters and pictures. Every detail was so thoughtful."
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom got together after he split with Flynn's mother, Miranda Kerr, in 2017.
Katy Perry appeared on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' in September and explained how her relationship with Bloom has helped her mature.
"We have to be out the door at 7:30 to be there at 8:15 and we cannot be late," she said explained to the talk show host of picking up Flynn from his mother Kerr. "I used to not wake up until 11 a.m. and now I’m in bed like a normal person at 10 p.m., just, like, falling asleep."
"I guess this has definitely matured me. I guess this is adulting," she continued. "That’s why I still dress like a child, to fight against!"
While divorce can be tricky, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr seem to have a mature approach to it. Miranda Kerr expressed her approval of Bloom's and Perry's relationship.
“They’re great. They get along really well," Kerr told People Magazine. She also referred to the relationship between Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and herself as a "modern family."
