Pop megastar Katy Perry has joined the voice cast for the popular Peppa Pig animated kids series for Hasbro set to celebrate its 20th anniversary next year.

Perry will have a guest voice role in one episode of the 3-part Peppa Pig Wedding Party Special set to premiere in spring 2024. Perry’s gig in Peppa Pig follows the pop princess grabbing the lead voice role in the animated musical feature Melody. The Peppa Pig episode in which Perry voice guests was completed before the SAG-AFTRA strike and does not breach strike restrictions, the series producer insisted.

“We’re incredibly thrilled to have such an A-list talent join the family-fun adventures in Peppa Pig. As a loving parent and fan of Peppa herself, Katy Perry is a perfect fit to voice the character of Ms. Leopard,” Hasbro Entertainment president Olivier Dumont said in a statement.

As Peppa Pig approaches its 20th anniversary in 2024, Hasbro plans new live events and attractions and products and brand partnerships. The series began as a British preschool animated TV show and has enjoyed nine seasons in over 180 territories.

Peppa Pig airs on Nick Jr. in the U.S. The series follows Peppa, a cheeky little piggy who lives with her family — younger brother George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig — as well as her diverse community of friends.
