Katy Perry to Be Honored at 35th Annual Colleagues Spring Luncheon for Firework Foundation Efforts

Katy Perry has a lunch date set for April.

The music superstar is confirmed to receive a Colleagues Champion of Children Award in honor of contributions made through her Firework Foundation at the 35th annual Colleagues spring luncheon. Set to take place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on April 25, the event will be hosted by Ali Wentworth and feature a fashion show from Oscar de la Renta’s fall 2024 collection designed by Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia.

Perry is being singled out due to the impact she’s had on youth through the Firework Foundation, which she launched in 2019 alongside sister Angela Lerche. The organization’s programming includes a summer camp that Perry is heavily involved in through supervising workshops on songwriting, music production and choreography.

Perry has been in the news recently after announcing that she is prepping to exit her role as a judge on ABC’s American Idol while teasing that she’s prepping new music or a forthcoming release. She’s received numerous awards for her work, including the Trevor Project’s Hero Award, UNICEF’s Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award, the Human Rights Campaign’s National Equality Award, amfAR’s Award of Courage and Variety’s Power of Women distinction.

Founded in 1950, the Colleagues is a group of 65 active women and over 25 sustaining members who volunteer their time and expertise to support underserved women, children and families in Los Angeles. More information can be found here.
