When asked by Kimmel about her future on the show, she expressed her need to "go out and feel that pulse to my own beat," hinting at a desire for new challenges beyond the reality series.

However, behind this decision lay several compelling factors, according to a source closely associated with ABC. While monetary considerations certainly play a role, Perry's yearning for a larger family emerged as a significant motivator.

The source disclosed to The Mirror, "Katy has always told her friends that having a bigger family has been a dream. She is 40 in the fall and loves her blended harmonious family with Orlando and his ex Miranda Kerr. But she would like a little sibling for Daisy.”

The prospect of providing her daughter with a sibling mirrors Perry's own upbringing, where the close relationship with her sister Angela proved instrumental in shaping her childhood. "She came from a family with a sister and really felt that aided her childhood and growing up experience," claimed the source.

The insider noted that the 39-year-old draws inspiration from her husband Orlando Bloom's exemplary parenting, which has instilled in her a deeper appreciation for family life.

“She has learned from him how to balance work and personal time...one could almost argue that he has helped him really find a balance in her life because of his influence,” the insider added.  Describing the music sensation as a “hands on mum,” the source revealed the "Roar" singer treasured the precious moments spent with Daisy, like breakfast and bedtime.

As for the monetary factor, the ABC source alleged that Perry was already earning a whopping $30 million a year, but she wanted an increase that the network couldn't afford. Per the insider:

"Katy enjoyed the best deal for reality in TV, worth around $30m a year. It madd her the (highest female star for reality and entertainment. But ABC do not want to up it after five years of increases. There is no wiggle room as the parent company Disney looks to be cost effective and keep spending down for the next couple of years."

Beyond her familial and financial aspirations, Perry remains committed to her musical endeavors. Amidst her departure announcement, the mother-of-one revealed tantalizing details about her upcoming projects, hinting at a resurgence of new music on the horizon.

The "I Kissed a Girl" singer teased the promise of new music, declaring, “I have some things planned for this year. So it’s going to be a very, very exciting year… for all popstar girlies!… I’ve been in the studio for a while.”

Furthermore, Perry unveiled her eagerly awaited performance at the prestigious "Rock in Rio" festival scheduled for June, adding to the excitement.

She humorously explained that she could not perform her show with "anything in my belly," quipping, "Especially a human."

Yet, in the whirlwind of her professional endeavors, Perry found solace and joy in the simple moments shared with Daisy.  Recalling precious memories from a family vacation to Hawaii, the multi-hyphenate artist beamed with pride as she recounted her baby girl's endearing antics, from mistaking Mickey Mouse for a cow to mastering the art of saying "I love you."

Since welcoming their daughter into the world, sources revealed that parenthood brought Perry and Bloom closer together as they embraced the responsibilities and delights of raising Daisy as a blended family.

Bloom, who shares a son, Flynn, with his former spouse Miranda Kerr, wholeheartedly embraced his role as a father once again.

According to an insider, "Orlando has made Daisy his priority and slashed a lot of his work time to stay home for the holidays. Orlando is so happy about being a new dad again. He has been doing the night feeds and helping out however he can."
