Katy Perry

Katy Perry was confronted by one of her own songs on the set of American Idol on Sunday night, and she responded as any humble artist would...by dragging herself.

The pop star shared the behind-the-scenes moment, in which the audience is heard singing along to her 2010 hit "California Gurls," on Instagram. In the clip, someone from the crew asks Perry if she knows the song.

"It's by that really annoying girl, right?" Perry replies. Damn, Katy! Someone send this woman a platitude about the importance of self-love, ASAP. (Also, Perry may have been wearing a giant winter scarf to the judge's table, but she'll always be known for her "daisy dukes, bikinis on top," let's be real.)

Unfortunately, the competition itself didn't include any Perry covers, but it did feature such heavy-hitters as Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell's "You’re All I Need to Get By" and Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing."
