Katie Maloney Reveals Reason She’s No Longer Friends With Brittany Cartwright

Vanderpump Rules viewers were reminded of another long-standing feud within the VPR community. And one that now, by proxy of her friendship with Stassi Schroeder, involves Katie Maloney as well.

Katie has been under scrutiny this season. Lala Kent was concerned about her overall happiness during a recent episode of the hit reality TV show. And alum Jax Taylor joked to James Kennedy that he had beef with her after she spoke of allegations of his cheating on Brittany Cartwright.

But this drama comes full circle with Katie’s issues with Brittany, which Jax also addressed on the April 23 episode. Both parties spoke in recollection of the discussion on the most recent episode of Vanderpump Rules After Show.

Jax accused Katie of being “mad just to be mad”

Katie and Brittany no longer speak. And it’s all tied to her and Jax skipping out on Stassi’s 2022 wedding in Italy.

Jax explained his estranged wife’s hurt on the After Show. He said Katie “abandoned” Brittany after Stassi cut The Valley couple out of her life as well.

“For [Katie] not to respond to her texts or messages, it hurt [Brittany]. She was a big part of her life,” Jax said.

The VPR alum was curious about Katie’s motivation as she “had no part of that situation.”

“So you’re mad just to be mad, or just because you’re up Stassi’s ass,” Jax continued. “[It’s] one of the two. That’s the only two reasons I can think of.”

“I don’t like lies,” Katie stated during the After Show

Katie, as usual, had a perfectly logical explanation. And it had to do with the standard of conduct that she holds herself and the people she surrounds herself with. It’s a mindset that has come under fire by some of her co-stars this season.

“We were all planning to go to Italy. We were making plans and arrangements and all that, and I remember Stassi and I were talking to Brittany for the longest time about all that, and she was very sort of avoiding the questions and didn’t really want to get involved in the planning of it all, but she would still. She’d get excited and talk about it,” she explained. “But then right up until like the days before, she became very avoidant of it all. So then the morning that we’re all supposed to go to Italy, Brittany sends a message saying, ‘Oh my god, we’re not going to be able to make it, we didn’t get the passport in time, yada yada yada. Just excuse, excuse, excuse.”

“I just feel like there were so many lies, and I don’t like lies,” Katie added. “I just, I f-cking hate lies, man. Like, nothing more than that. So I’m just like, you know, I need a break … and also Jax has just been such a f-cking asshole to me for no reason.”
