Welcome to The A-List, where we review the products your favorite celebrities wear and use that we actually really love, too.

If there’s one type of pants that don’t get enough accolades, it’s sweatpants.

I’m talking about the baggy, athletic bottoms you likely wore in 11th grade gym class, or maybe the oversized ones your dad threw on every time he went to get a sweat in. Whatever your association with the so-called “unkempt” style may be, Katie Holmes and I are here to challenge it.

The Dawson’s Creek star has been spotted wearing Alo Yoga’s Accolade Sweatpant at least five times in the past few months, per the brand. Most recently, she wore a bright green pair with a brown cardigan, a big tote, and some comfy sneakers. Holmes has also styled what look to be the same jade-colored ones with a sports bra, as well as the white sweats with a dressy button-down shirt and casual gray pairs with fun graphic T-shirts.

Earlier this year, Blake Lively also cozied up in the Accolade Sweatpants, and a handful of celebrities, like Alessandra Ambrosio, Jennifer Garner, Olivia Wilde, Hailey Bieber, and Kendall Jenner, have worn Alo Yoga clothing, too. While I might not be a celebrity, I do write about what they wear for a living, which means I’m always testing out styles from those brands.

And after trying out the Alo Yoga sweatpants the brand sent me, I can confirm that the hype is real — they’re basically like a wearable blanket that I don’t have to keep adjusting every few minutes.

In fact, I’m wearing them as I sit here writing inside my heavily air-conditioned room. The fleece insides are so soft and snuggly, they make me want to curl up into a ball and take a nap, and the slouchy shape allows me to sit comfortably for hours at my table, while crossing and uncrossing my very fidgety legs.

The waistband is also stretchy like a rubberband: To test their limits, I pulled the two sides of the waistband in opposite directions, and it expanded to nearly double the original width. And thanks to the drawstrings hidden inside, I can get an on-the-nose fit without having them dangling for all to see. If my stomach is bloated, I’ll keep it untied for some extra breathing room, or do a double knot for more security.

I love that they bunch up at the ankles because they have a little more shape compared to wide-leg pairs. The silver logo is also an understated detail that puts matching accessories on the table, and the deeper-than-my-hands pockets are large enough to stuff my keys, wallet, and phone during my long walks.

Like most fleece garments, the smooth feeling has slightly faded since I first wore them back in May, but they’re not itchy or uncomfortable. I’ve also noticed some pilling on the rear, but that doesn’t stop me from wearing them.

Though I don’t wear them outside my house often, I have paired them with my favorite chunky sweater for neighborhood walks. I’m also already planning fall outfits with the comfortable pants in mind. I’m hoping to wear them with a beige trench coat, a white T-shirt, and a baseball hat one day, and then an oversized jacket and fun flats the next.

I own the limited-edition Macadamia color, which seamlessly goes with everything in my neutral-filled closet. But they also come in black, ivory, teal, gray, brown, and additional fall-ready colors and sizing ranges from XXS to 2XL.

Don’t be afraid to embrace sweatpants: If Katie Holmes and Blake Lively are doing it, you most definitely can, too.
