Katherine Heigl Sets 'Grey's Anatomy' Fans Off By Channeling Izzie Stevens

It's been 9 years since Katherine Heigl graced the wings of Seattle Grace Hospital, but a new look and familiar attitude has die-hard "Grey's Anatomy" fans believing Izzie Stevens might make a comeback.

The Emmy-winning actress, who was on the show from 2005-2010, channeled her former character on Tuesday after changing her hair brown for her upcoming Netflix role, "Firefly Lane."

Documenting her new dark hairdo, Heigl makes it clear the dye job was done for her new role.

"If you haven't caught my stories this will be a shock for you," she states, but it's the IG stories that have "Grey's Anatomy" fans jumping out of their seats.

Paging Izzie Stevens!

"Good evening, Mr. Kelley. The doctor will be right in to see you," Heigl says, seemingly channeling her inner Izzie Stevens.

"In the meantime, I just need to do a few routine tests. Are you comfortable with a female nurse?" she says in a sexual voice to her husband, Josh Kelley.

That was enough to set "Grey's Anatomy" fans into a tailspin.

Fans Go Wild!

After they watched her video, fans invaded her comments with several "Grey's Anatomy" questions.

"Are you coming back to greys?????????? Omg answer mee [sic]," one follower commented. "izzie stevens???" said another.

Despite the brunette hair -- Heigl was blonde when she was on the show -- people desperately want to believe that she's hinting at a comeback.

"Izzie Stevens is back with a new look," added someone. "Back to Grey's Anatomy," wrote another.

Grey's Days:

Katherine Heigl burned her bridges when she begged to be let out of her contract ahead of time.

Show creators had to scramble to figure out how the last scene with Izzie would end; however, they decided not to kill her beloved character off.

Years later, Heigl admitted she regretted leaving the show and was open to bring her character back to the screen.

So, never say never?
