Kate Walsh Cast In Universal’s ‘Girls’ Trip’ & ‘#REALITYHIGH’ For Netflix

EXCLUSIVE: Grey’s Anatomy alum Kate Walsh has come aboard Girls Trip, from Universal/Will Packer Productions. The R-rated comedy stars Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Queen Latifah, Deborah Ayorinde and Mike Colter and follows college best friends who get together for their traditional trip to Essence magazine’s annual convention in New Orleans. Malcolm Lee is directing.

Walsh will play a crude and ballsy talent agent. Packer and James Lopez are producing the pic, which is scheduled for release July 21.

Walsh has also landed a role in the Fernando Lebrija-directed Netflix comedy #REALITYHIGH, written by Brandon Broussard, Hudson Obayuwana and Jana Savage. The film is about a nerdy girl who must learn how to handle the pitfalls of high school when a social media celebrity classmate becomes her enemy. Walsh will play a quirky doctor at an animal shelter who is single and always hunting for a man. Nesta Cooper, Alicia Sanz, Jake Borelli and Keith Powers co-star. Jane Fleming and Mark Ordesky produce the film, which will debut on the streaming service July 17.

Walsh is perhaps best known for her role as Dr. Addison Montgomery on the ABC’s Grey’s and its spinoff Private Practice. She also is in production on the Tom McCarthy-Selena Gomez Netflix series Thirteen Reasons Why. Her film credits include the supernatural thriller Legion and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

She is repped by Gersh and Luber Roklin.
