Kate Upton and Justin Verlander's Wedding Photo Album Is Here

Model Kate Upton married Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander in early November in an elaborately romantic Italian ceremony. And by now you’ve probably seen the picture-perfect photo of the newlyweds walking down the aisle and heard the story about how they almost missed their own wedding (Verlander was playing in game seven of the World Series just days earlier!). But now, the stars are finally sharing all the details about the big day.

The two tied the knot with the help of internationally acclaimed wedding planner and designer Lisa Vorce, in Tuscany because it was one of the first places they vacationed to together. “It’s extremely romantic and will always be a special place for us,” Upton told Vogue. “We fell in love with the Rosewood Castiglion Del Bosco resort because of its amazing history and incredible scenery.”

And the bride took inspiration from the Italian venue to help her in the dress design process. “For my ceremony dress, I had the pleasure of collaborating with the fantastic team at Valentino,” Upton said. “They are the best at creating delicate, beautiful lace and details, and their Italian heritage kept the fashion and feel authentic to our venue. The design process was extremely collaborative, so I was able to really include my personal style and create my dream dress.”

In keeping with the delicate design of her gown, she knew she wanted a simple beauty look for the ceremony so she called in her two friends, hairstylist John Ruggiero and makeup artist Tracy Murphy, for the job. “John is the best at creating a special twist on a simple updo, and Tracy is great at accentuating your favorite features without it being overdone,” she said. Her wedding jewelry, including her simple new band, was created with an assist from Anita Ko, who helped Verlander custom-design the gorgeous engagement ringwhich Upton almost forgot to look at during the proposal!

As for Verlander, he wore a Cicchini Custom Clothier tux with a special surprise embroidered inside. “He had the idea to add a cute detail on the inside of the jacket that read ‘Just Married’ when he held it open,” Upton explained.

Later in the night, Upton slipped into something a little sexier at the reception, changing into a low-back, high-slit embroidered dress by Christy Rilling Studio and accessorized with Messika Paris earrings. Christy Rilling Studio also created her sisters’ bridesmaid dresses (which were matched by Needle & Thread for the other bridesmaids). “I wanted a dress that I could have fun in, but that still brought the glamour,” she said.

She also went with something more fun and festive for the wedding rehearsal. The couple requested that everyone wear red, so Upton arrived in a red lace long-sleeve Valentino gown and Verlander wore a custom-made red tuxedo jacket with black pants.

What do you think of their fairytale wedding?
