Kate Upton Breastfeeds In Swimsuit, Slams 'Ridiculous' Weight Loss Pressures

Kate Upton delivered a stunning and very real Instagram update on Wednesday. The "Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue" model welcomed her baby girl Genevieve on November 7, 2019.

Husband Justin Verlander didn't feature in the blonde's update, but there was plenty to see – and plenty to digest. Kate, 27, got honest about the pressures women face post-baby, taking to her caption to outline that she'd been subject to them. Of course, the photo also doubled up as an adorable mother-baby bonding moment.

Celebrating Breastfeeding, But Weight Loss Pressures Are 'Extremely Unnecessary'

Kate's photo showed her sitting amid towels and outdoors as she breastfed baby Genevieve. Kate had placed a digitally-added heart to block out both her infant's face and what was likely a little nipple exposure. The model wore a black swimsuit and a summery pink hat.

Kate looked down at her teeny tiny munchkin with a smile.

The caption was more aggressive, though.

"I want to take a minute to clarify the context of feeling pressures as a new mother and breastfeeding in the @editorialistmagazine article," she began, referring to her January cover interview with Editorialist. The feature saw Upton claim thatbreastfeeding was "sucking the energy away" from her, with today clarifying the comment.

"Every woman experiences this due to the unnecessary and unrealistic expectations that are brought into every household, mostly via social media. I certainly felt these pressures, as all women do," she continued.

Tried To Push Herself 'Early To Get Back In The Gym'

Kate continued by saying that she'd succumbed to societal pressures.

"I tried to push myself early to get back to the gym, eat perfectly and try to achieve this alleged “snap back”. But, after realizing how ridiculous these pressures are I quickly gave myself some slack and lived in the moment as a new mother," she added, continuing.

"I realized quickly that between breastfeeding, healing, little-to-no sleep, off-the-charts hormone changes and experiencing everything for the first time that those weight-loss pressures are extremely unnecessary, and I decided to turn my energy towards my family."

'Enjoy The Moments With Your New Baby'

The star then admitted to "drained" energy levels despite a heart that was "full." She further spoke to her followers, encouraging women to give themselves a break after giving birth and actually enjoy what matters – namely, being a new mom.

"In my opinion, enjoy the moments with your new baby and growing family, allow your body time to heal and make sure to go at your own pace," she concluded.

Hashtags of "motherhood" and "sharestrong" were then used.

Kate's post didn't take long to generate a response. Fans seemed totally on-board with the model's words, also appearing to love the adorable snap.

"Amen and thank you!!" one fan wrote.

"Love this! Thank you for being real," another said.

One fan took a more verbose route.

"It isn't a competition. It's a personal matter how you approach everything you do. Your choices have NOTHING to do with anyone else. People need to focus on their own lives and families and stop passing judgment on everyone else. The world would be a much better and far happier place," they wrote.

The update racked up an impressive 62,000+ likes in an hour.
