Kate Spade's father dies the day before designer's funeral
Kate Spade's father, Earl Brosnahan, has died. The death of the designer's father comes just one day before she was expected to be laid to rest. The family released a statement: "We are deeply saddened to announce that Katy's father, Earl F. Brosnahan, Jr. (Frank), passed away last night at age 89. He has been in failing health of late and was heartbroken over the recent death of his beloved daughter." Kate Spade was 55 at the time of her death.
