“Before we go tonigh, I want to share some personal news. For eight and a half years, I have loved being with you every Sunday night. It’s been a privilege. Many of you know that I also anchor a weekday program, it’s called NBC News Daily. It’s a fast-paced show filled with all the news that’s relevant to you highlighting our NBC News reporters. Our audience on NBC News Daily is growing fast, and I have decided after a lot of thought to focus my attention Monday through Friday on that role. So next Sunday will be my last Sunday anchoring Nightly News,” Snow said during Sunday’s telecast.

She continued, “I will miss the team that you don’t see behind the cameras here but I’ll still continue to be part of the Nightly News family, reporting and contributing. And again, you can find me every weekday by streaming NBC News Daily, live from 2 to 4 p.m. ET on NBC News NOW or finding us on your local NBC affiliate. I will see you next week. And for all of us here at NBC News — stay safe, and have a great night.”

In addition to focusing efforts on her five-day-a-week program, NBC News Daily, Snow will continue to appear across TodayNBC Nightly News and other NBC News platforms as a senior national correspondent.

NBC is expected to announce plans for the next anchor in the coming weeks. A rotation of anchors will fill in Snow’s absence after her final show next Sunday.

“Kate’s dedication to Nightly and its viewers has been nothing short of inspiring. She works tirelessly and has that rare gravitas, earned throughout her distinguished career marked by dogged reporting and powerful interviews. She cares deeply about her work and the profound and positive impact it can have on the world, and that compassion extends to those of us who work with her behind the camera. She’s a loyal colleague, a mentor and a friend,” Janelle Rodriguez, executive vp, programming, NBC News said.

In 2022, Snow was named a co-anchor of NBC News Daily, which airs on the NBC network and simultaneously streams on NBC News Now, and co-anchors the program alongside Zinhle Essamuah each weekday from 2 to 4 p.m. ET.

During her time with NBC, Snow has extensively covered the tech CEOs hearing in D.C., fronted myriad NBC News investigations, including a special Dateline NBC on the NXIVM group and a special MSNBC hour on Sequel Youth and Family Services, as well as anchored a special edition of Sunday’s Nightly News, “One Night in America: The Gun Violence Epidemic Plaguing the U.S.” in 2021.

Snow won an Emmy in 2019 for her 2018 sit-down with Bill Cosby accuser Andrea Constand. She also anchored a Dateline special that featured 27 of the comedian’s accusers in one room. The special received both an Emmy and a duPont award.

Snow also acts as host of NBC News’ The Drink With Kate Snow, a digital series where she speaks with innovators and influencers about how they rose to the top of their fields. Guests have included Michael Phelps, Mindy Kaling, Jon Bon Jovi and Jane Goodall.
