Kate Middleton's uncle Gary Goldsmith is starring in the new season of Celebrity Big Brother U.K. but keeping his royal niece's recent health scare in mind.

Before entering the reality show, Goldsmith, 58, spoke with The Sun about the Princess of Wales, 42, who is recovering from her Jan. 16 abdominal surgery.

Referring to his sister and Princess Kate's mom, Goldsmith told the outlet, "I've spoken to Carole just to send my love, and we talked about Kate given what's going on."

“There’s lots going on in the family at the moment," he added. "So she’s spinning a lot of plates right now, it’s quite stressful. So the last thing I’m going to do is bring any stress to them."

Goldsmith made headlines in 2017 after he was arrested for assaulting his fourth and current wife, Julie-Ann, during an argument outside their London home. According to prosecutors, the pair were arguing after a drunken night out and Goldsmith punched his wife, causing her to hit her head on the ground. According to the Independent, Goldsmith pleaded guilty, was fined about $6,000 and given a 12-month community order with 20 sessions of rehabilitation.

Goldsmith praised the Princess of Wales as "beautiful on the outside but more beautiful on the inside and really is a doting mum...so the way the monarchy is moving, it’s family-centric."

Elsewhere in the interview, Goldsmith criticized Prince Harry, 39, and the comments he and Meghan Markle, 42, have made about the British royal family since they stepped back from their working roles in January 2020.

Speaking to The Sun, Goldsmith accused Meghan and Harry of attempting to "reinvent history" with their recollections of royal life.

“I think everyone felt the same about how much did we love Harry. Throwing your family under the bus just seemed inappropriate, especially what was happening with the Queen," Goldsmith said, referring to the failing health and death of Queen Elizabeth at age 96 on Sept. 8, 2022. "I just thought it was totally unnecessary."

"The first time I met William, Catherine was cooking and William said: ‘Hi, do you want a cup of tea?’ ” he added of the future king.

“Very normal,” Goldsmith said with a laugh.
