Kate Middleton's Dance Moves Go Viral on TikTok — See the 'Dancing Queen'

The Princess of Wales has shown off her shimmy on duty through the years

Kate Middleton doesn’t pass up the chance to dance.

The Princess of Wales, 41, has traveled around the world for various royal engagements since marrying Prince William in 2011 — and sometimes, the job calls for a little boogie.

A new video shared on Instagram by fan account KateMiddleton_Turkey and further circulated by The_Blazing_Royals on TikTok looks back at the princess’ dance moves on duty through the years.

The clip playfully begins with Kate’s stealthy step towards Queen Margrethe of Denmark during a visit to Copenhagen in February 2022. The British royal discreetly moved towards the monarch to create a better picture during a photo call at Amalienborg Castle, and TikTok users later christened it “the princess shuffle” in a resurfaced snippet this spring.

Another clip shows Princess Kate trying a traditional dance with local women in Tuvalu during a tour with Prince William for Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012. The video then flashed to snippets of Kate dancing at the National Maritime Museum, twirling with Paddington Bear at Paddington Station in 2017, conducting music with Prince George and Princess Charlotte in Wales in 2022 and singing during a school visit with Place2Be in 2012.

The clip closed with what might be Kate’s most deliberate shimmy of all. During a lighthearted stop of what proved to be a controversial Caribbean tour for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in March 2022, William and Kate showed off their moves during a traditional Garifuna festival in Belize.

The couple danced the "punta" while immersing themselves in the Garifuna culture, and one local woman said they fit right in.

"They are an amazing couple and we would love them to come any time with their children Charlotte, George and Louis," Laura Cacho, who helped host the visit, told PEOPLE at the time. "They really know how to dance. They took the culture from me and I didn't need to teach them. They're so good at it. They were excellent."

The Prince and Princess of Wales might have passed down the passion to at least one of their kids: Princess Charlotte! The couple has referenced their only daughter’s love of dance several times through the years, and Kate most recently spoke about Charlotte’s interest during a solo stop in Leeds and Lancaster in September.

During a chat with 7-year-old Emily May Catto at Standfast & Barracks printworks, the Princess of Wales asked the youngster what she liked to do. When Emily replied that she enjoyed dancing, Kate told her that her 8-year-old daughter is also into the activity.

"My daughter Charlotte likes dancing. She loves ballet and tap," Princess Kate said, according to Hello! magazine. "Keep up the dancing."

Princess Charlotte recently showed a glimpse of her dance moves at the Coronation Concert in May. The young royal joined the rest of the crowd in standing up and dancing along to Lionel Richie as he performed his hit "All Night Long" from the stage set up on the Windsor Castle grounds.

The little princess has also taken private ballet lessons at a dance school, and Kate and Charlotte have had mother-daughter outings to see professional ballet performances.

“She looked so excited to be there and sat very still, watching the show,” an onlooker previously told PEOPLE. “They were the only ones in the audience. It was very sweet.”

Princess Charlotte isn't the only dancer in the family, either. Her 10-year-old brother George took ballet classes as part of the curriculum at Thomas’s Battersea school, where lessons were accompanied by a live pianist.

“George is doing dancing as well, he loves it," Prince William said in 2018.

The siblings now attend Lambrook School (along with 5-year-old brother Prince Louis), which even has a dance studio as part of the performing arts program.

The Prince and Princess of Wales' children may have inherited their love of dance from their late grandmother, Princess Diana. Diana memorably surprised her husband King Charles (then the Prince of Wales) by taking the stage with a performance of Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" in front of an audience of 2,500 at the Royal Opera House in London, and she famously hit the dance floor with John Travolta during a 1985 event at the White House.

“My mother always used to dance, she loved dancing,” William once said. “And if it’s something you love, you do what you love. Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise. Keep at it."
