James Middleton is marking his first Christmas as a father.

Kate Middleton's younger brother and his wife, Alizee Thevenet, welcomed their first child in the fall, and he celebrated his first holiday as a family of three on Instagram. James shared a photo of himself holding his son, Inigo, sitting beside Santa Claus, also surrounded by his beloved dogs.

James also remembered his beloved dog Ella, who died in January, with a photo of the pup placed on top of his Christmas tree.

"The angel on our tree watching over us," he captioned the post. "My first Christmas in 16 years without Ella but our first with Inigo. Happy Christmas from my family to yours."

Although Inigo is James and Alizee's first child, they share six dogs: Mabel, Zulu, Inka, Luna, Nala and Isla. In July, James spoke about how he was preparing the pack for the new baby while appearing on Good Morning Britain.

“I have pep talks with the dogs quite a lot about what we're about to be going through, and I think that is a really exciting next step for us as a family. I'm very much looking forward to it and I know the dogs are very excited,” he said in a video shared by Hello! magazine.

James even credited Ella with introducing him to his wife. In a 2019 essay for The Telegraph, he revealed that he met Alizee at the South Kensington Club in Chelsea after his cocker spaniel “made a beeline” for the French financial analyst. Mistaking James for a server, Alizee ordered a drink, and the rest is history.
