Kate Middleton stylishly arrived at the Royal Variety Performance.

On Thursday evening, the Princess of Wales stepped out at the annual charity event at Royal Albert Hall for the first time in two years. Princess Kate, 41, wore a fitted teal gown by Safiyaa with a crystal-embellished neckline and floor-length split sleeves that created a cape effect.

The fashion statement marked Princess Kate’s third time in the regal style in recent days, as she wore a red cape coat by Catherine Walker and a white gown with cape sleeves from Jenny Packham during South Korea's state visit to the U.K. last week.

Kate completed the look with a pearl earring and bracelet set, sparkly clutch and teal heels.

She also wore her hair in a new way, rocking a bouncy blowout (long her signature style) with her new curtain bangs for the first time. The Princess of Wales has previously styled her fringe, which she debuted in September, with tighter curls or twisted chignons.

The Princess of Wales was all smiles as she arrived at Royal Albert Hall with Prince William, and the couple ignored reporters who shouted questions about Omid Scobie's new book Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival.

The book has made waves since its publication on Tuesday, as it emerged that the Dutch edition is being temporarily pulled from store shelves. The translation reportedly names the members of the family involved in a conversation that included a controversial comment about the skin color of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's son Prince Archie, now 4, before he was born. On Wednesday night, Piers Morgan shared the names reportedly featured in the translation on his show.

In separate statements to PEOPLE, which originally excerpted Endgame, Scobie and the Dutch publishers said the names were an “error.”

Buckingham Palace had no comment. PEOPLE understands the palace is considering all options regarding the situation.

As seen in a video captured by PEOPLE's Simon Perry, William and Kate didn’t react to reporters’ questions about Endgame as they exited their car at Royal Albert Hall on Thursday.

"Your Royal Highness, have you got a comment about Omid Scobie's book?" someone called, as cameras clicked. "Did you watch the Piers Morgan show last night, Your Royal Highnesses?"

The Prince and Princess of Wales didn't respond or acknowledge, walking towards each other and briefly holding hands. Prince William, 41, then put a hand on his wife's back on the red carpet as they made their way in.

The Royal Variety Performance was a double date night with Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden, who are visiting the U.K. for a three-day stay. William and Victoria, 46, are both heirs to their respective thrones, creating a unique opportunity for a special friendship between the two couples, who are around the same age.

While it was Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel’s first time at the Royal Variety Performance, the larger trip is a royal reunion for the foursome. The Swedish royals were guests at Prince William and Princess Kate's wedding in 2011, and Victoria and Daniel showed their British pals around their home country during a tour in 2018.

Prince William, Princess Kate, Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel sat near each other at the show, which was headlined by Cher. The evening of entertainment also featured Swedish pop star Zara Larsson, an exclusive 100th-anniversary celebration from Disney Theatrical, British singer Paloma Faith, Chinese pianist Lang Lang, Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham (who hosted Prince William’s 2023 Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony in Singapore on Nov. 7) and much more.

Members of the British royal family have long supported the Royal Variety Show, which benefits the Royal Variety Charity. Funds raised benefit entertainers across the U.K. who need help and assistance as a result of old age, poor health or hard times.

The Royal Variety Charity has been supported by the British sovereign since King George V, William’s great-great-grandfather, in 1921 and is believed to be "the only charity to exist in the U.K. with such a long, unbroken line of patronage from the reigning monarch," per philanthropy history.

According to the organization, it was King George V's wish that a member of the royal family would always attend the annual performance "to demonstrate the royal family's love and support for the entertainment industry and its associated charity."
