Kate Middleton and Prince William have favorite emojis just like the rest of us!

During an interview with Radio 1 show hosts Jordan North and Vick Hope for their Going Home show, the royal couple was asked a few light-hearted questions sent in by listeners.

When asked what their most-used emojis are, William joked that he was going to have to think of a family-friendly option because his initial answer would be the aubergine [eggplant].

"Is this a clean thing or is this a family one?" he said with a laugh. "I've been told not to say the aubergine so I've got to pick something else. It would have been the aubergine but I'm saying now—because I've got to be all grown up—it's the one where the eyes go up and down and the mouth's out. What's that one? The slightly crazy one."

Kate then shared which emoji she opts for, and gave listeners a little insight into when she uses it.

“Mine’s probably going to be the heart with then the crying emoji. The hysterical laughing when things have gone wrong," the royal admitted.

Both presenters were amused by William's initial suggestion of the aubergine emoji. “He said the aubergine emoji, this is brilliant!” North said. Hope added, “He knows. He’s got a dirty mind.”

The couple took part in the chat on Tuesday as they hosted a forum in Birmingham to mark World Mental Health Day. The Prince and Princess of Wales teamed up with charity The Mix and BBC Radio 1 to bring young people together to talk about mental wellbeing.

During the forum, the prince revealed his tips for mental wellbeing. "Having a laugh. Humor for me is a big deal — I love to laugh," William said. "You’ve got to look at the lighter things in life sometimes to feel good."

During their brief chat with the Radio 1 hosts, the couple also bantered about what they would have for dinner when they got back to Windsor that night: Most likely curry. "I can't do too much spice, I start sweating. It’s not attractive," William confessed,

"Whereas I like the spice so I have to sort of cook the curry and then add the spice, extra spice at the end," Kate added.

William then joked that Kate "has to bring it in gently because otherwise I get too sweaty. It’s not a nice sight!"

The couple was then asked whether they wanted to hear a cover version of a song sung by that day’s guest in the Live Lounge — Leigh-Anne — or one of their own songs. "I think definitely cover,” Kate said.

William agreed: “I go cover too. Always like a cover.” The royal couple's choice? The song made famous by Dionne Warwick, “Walk on By.”

Kate was also asked if she listened to Radio 1 “quite a lot.” “Yes, that is true,” she said. “I’m starting to veer into Radio 2 and Radio 4. I’m getting a bit old school.”

“I’ve listened to Radio 1 since I was tiny. I've always listened to it. I’ve heard many of your guys come and go, all the presenters over the years," William added.

He then joked, “I can definitely say with great purpose that Greg James is an average DJ and Jordan and Vick are the future.”

“After I’ve just said this I’ll never see Greg James again," the prince joked, as Kate added, “That’s the end of our friendship.”

There was a serious message to the day — helping young people cope with mental health challenges.

At the forum — Exploring our Emotional Worlds, which took place on World Mental Health Day — the couple participated in some workshops, with Kate and some of the young people taking turns to describe a feeling from an emotion wheel while others around the table had to guess what they were explaining.

Kate also talked about how young people, like those at the forum, inspired the royal couple.

"Today, more people feel empowered to talk about their mental health than ever before," she told the crowd.

"This is a major step forward. William and I continue to be inspired to see young people, like you all here today, leading this charge — being particularly brave in having some of those conversations yourselves. As a generation, you value and talk more about your mental health than any before you — something we truly admire and applaud."
