Today in Royal House Drama, which is truly a never-ending story, it looks like there’s a chance Prince William and Kate Middleton could be moving into disgraced royal Prince Andrew’s longtime home, the Royal Lodge.

The couple is reportedly relocating to Windsor at the end of the summer, and while there are reports that they have their eye on Adelaide Cottage (which, awkward times, Andrew’s daughter Princess Eugenie also wants for her family), The Express notes that they might be taking Andrew’s place—especially because not-that-estranged-ex-wife Fergie has purchased a new property in Mayfair.

“It’s in Grosvenor Estate, which funnily enough is owned by the Duke of Westminster, who happens to be Prince George’s godfather and William and Kate’s friend. The speculation is they didn’t pay full price for this and they got a good deal because, ‘Hey, help my aunt, she needs a house.’ It is interesting because there’s a lot of talk about the Cambridges moving into Royal Lodge. Supposedly, Andrew and Fergie are staying at Royal Lodge for now, but if they had this other home is the plan, maybe they can move into this Mayfair place and the Cambridges could move into Royal Lodge?”

This is obviously pure speculation (the royals haven’t commented on William and Kate’s alleged move), but Page Six previously reported that they had, in fact, looked at the Royal Lodge as a potential home. At the time, a source said, “It seems unlikely that [Andrew] will want to relinquish [it].”

Meanwhile, The Sun reported back in April that Wills and Kate “checked out” the Royal Lodge as an option to move in to but had to reject it at the time because Andrew would “not budge.” There are also claims that one of the reasons William and Kate want to move to Windsor is concern that Her Majesty is spending too much time with Andrew. A source notes, “There are real fears that despite being banished from the Firm in January, he is using his closeness to the Queen as a springboard back into public life.”
