Meghan Markle Stepped Out in Her Beloved Wedges Twice Today — and They’re Still Available to Shop

Meghan Markle has what seems like an unlimited number of shoe options (perks of royalty, right?). So when she wears a pair of shoes more than once, we sit up and take note — especially when she wears them twice in one day with two different outfits. The shoes in question? Her black lace-up Castañer Carina canvas wedges.

She sported the Castañer espadrilles with a flowing blue midi dress by Veronica Beard during a visit to the District Six Museum on her royal tour in South Africa, and again earlier in the day for her first engagement in Cape Town with a different dress from Mayamiko.

The last time we saw her wearing these Castañer wedges was during her Royal Tour Down Under in October, paired with a striped Martin Grant maxi while visiting Bondi Beach in Australia, and again with a pink floral Figue dress during a visit to the University of the South Pacific in Suva. It’s safe to say that the Castañer wedges are her go-to royal tour shoe.

As it turns out, Kate Middleton is just as obsessed with the brand as her sister-in-law. The Duchess of Cambridge wore her tan lace-up Castañer wedges on repeat this summer — four times to be exact — most recently sporting them with a flowing pink midi dress to support Prince William at a charity polo match.

Kate wore the same wedges just a little over a week before that with a printed midi dress by Sandro to host a children’s picnic at Hampton Court Palace’s Garden Festival, one week before that with a paisley dress while meeting with aspiring young photographers, and again with a tiered floral Erdem dress while showing Queen Elizabeth her new garden in May.

Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, also owns the same pair of Carina canvas wedges as Meghan, only in ivory. But Castañer’s wedges aren’t only loved by royalty — the brand has racked up a list of other celeb fans including Emily Ratajkowski, Gwyneth Paltrow, Anne Hathaway, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (to name a few). The best part about Castañer wedges? You can wear them with practically every outfit imaginable (as the Duchesses have proven). They’re the perfect casual-but-dressy shoe to wear to a wedding, or to pair with a midi dress for fall. Ringing in at $120, they’re not cheap, per se, but totally worth every penny if you plan to live in them all season long like Meghan and Kate.

While the Duchess of Cambridge’s exact style is no longer available, the brand sells a very similar tan lace-up pair that are just as cute — but they’re selling out fast. Pippa and Meghan’s wedge styles are still available (though we imagine not for long), so you’d better move quickly if you want a pair for yourself.
