Kate Middleton Just Responded to Those Botox & Plastic Surgery Rumors

The royals handled this latest rumor with a lot of composure. Kate Middleton responded to Botox and plastic surgery rumors, vis a representative from Kensington Palace. The Duchess of Cambridge issued a statement through a spokesperson to set the record straight on the claims made by a plastic surgeon via social media.

On Tuesday, July 23, Dr. Munir Somji, a British plastic surgeon, shared a side-by-side photo of Middleton, claiming that the duchess has received Botox. “Our Kate loves a bit of baby Botox,” Dr. Somji captioned the photos on the Instagram account @DrMediSpa. (The Instagram has since been deleted.) After the post went viral, Kensington Palace reacted swiftly to the claims and issued a statement a statement, denying that the duchess has ever had Botox. In a response shared through the New York Post, a spokesperson for the royal said the claims were, “categorically not true.” “In addition, The Royal Family never endorse commercial activity,” the statement continued.

In response to the backlash, Sammy Curry, the marketing manager of the Dr. Medi Spa Clinic, explained to Page Six that the phrase “our Kate” was meant to describe “The UK’s Kate,” and not suggest that the Duchess used the resources the clinic provided. Baby Botox, which the clinic provides to those who seek the services, is described as, “injection of botulinum toxin in the face in an effort to paralyze the muscles underneath,” according to Us Weekly. Furthermore, baby Botox focuses on smaller amounts of injections and is only used around the forehead and the mouth.

When asked if Middleton has ever used Dr. Medi Spa Clinic, Curry told Page Six, “We wouldn’t be able to disclose whether she is a client or not. We have non-disclosure agreements where we can’t disclose our high-end clients. We absolutely can’t comment at all that she has come to us.”

Curry explained that Somji intended to show the effects of baby Botox and not expose or shame Middleton for using it. “He thought it was a good comparison picture to use to show the effects of Botox and obviously baby Botox which he does himself,” Curry told Page Six. “He just wanted to show the transformation that it can create and obviously how it can be used for subtle results and how it’s really good for anti-aging.”

The marketing manager also explained how baby Botox is different and less severe than regular botox. Curry told Page Six, “This gives the effect of Botox, but you won’t have the frozen look. You will get expression in your face. It’s good as a starting point off with Botox because it has more subtle results than going into a normal procedure of Botox.”

Whether Middleton uses Botox or not (in this case, she doesn’t), that’s her choice, and it’s no one’s business — not even the doctor who performed the procedure — to tell anyone about it. Everyone deals with aging differently, and there’s no shame in doing Botox or any other plastic surgery procedure. You do you. But in Middleton’s case, Kensington Palace made it clear that she hasn’t done Botox, so lay off her.
