The Duchess of Cambridge has given royal fashion fans an insight into her chic off-duty wardrobe as she baked with her three children.

The royal, 40, could be seen, in a series of photos, wearing a high street blouse and jeans while making cupcakes for a street party with Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four.

In a post on Instagram, Prince William's wife directed their smiling offspring in creating the sweet treats beneath Union Jack bunting in what appeared to be their home kitchen.

The images included George in the background whisking, Charlotte cracking an egg wearing a Boden striped T-shirt and Louis attempting to sieve some flour.

For the hands-on baking session, the duchess – who many also praised as "such a good mum" – wore a stylish but comfortable outfit.

The mother-of-three opted for a red and white gingham blouse with a statement Peter Pan collar by Brora – costing £129 – as well as a pair of blue jeans from & Other Stories.

She is known to favour denim from & Other Stories, and these could even be the same pair she was seen wearing when going to get her COVID vaccination last year.

But it's that oh-so-pretty, casually chic gingham blouse that has really stolen our hearts. And clearly everyone else who saw it because it has now sold out at John Lewis and on the Brora site. 'The Kate effect' in action yet again.

There's so much gingham around this summer, but Kate's blouse stands out because of the details - namely the beautifully puffed sleeves and the statement collar.

Never fear, we've scoured the virtual high street and found some equally lovely - and in some cases cheaper - alternatives so you can get Duchess of Cambridge look.
