Another royal photo is making headlines—but this time, it isn't over photoshop claims. Instead, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's longtime friend and photographer, Misan Harriman (who is responsible for their second pregnancy reveal and Lilibet's first birthday portrait), is celebrating one of his photos of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex being selected for the National Portrait Gallery.

On Thursday, Harriman posted an Instagram sharing that a black-and-white portrait of the couple holding hands at the 2022 One Young World Summit is now a part of the prestigious collection. The event took place in Manchester, England, on Sept. 5, 2022, just days before Harry's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, died. At the time, the couple was in Europe for several events, including the summit, and stayed in England for the queen's funeral.

"I am humbled and proud to announce that my portrait of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is now part of the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery," Harriman wrote alongside a video. "Dare to dream folks!"

The accomplishment also has a tie to Harry and Meghan's sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. The Princess of Wales has been the royal patron of the National Portrait Gallery since shortly after her 2011 wedding to Prince William.

Things between Prince Harry and his family, however, appear to be strained at the moment. King Charles and Prince William were reportedly "furious" with the couple after their trip to Nigeria and have even had discussions about "stripping" Harry and Meghan of their royal titles, though, "they are terrified this would backfire and make the situation worse," royal author Tom Quinn told The Mirror earlier this week.

When Harry and Meghan left the royal family in 2020, His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness were removed from their names, but they were stilled permitted to use Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
