Is Kate Middleton Homeschooling Prince George & Princess Charlotte?

Schools across the world have shut down and adopted remote learning schedules in wake of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Likewise, the school attended by Kate Middleton and Prince William’s children, Prince George (age 6) and Princess Charlotte (age 4), will be closing down for the foreseeable future. As Kate and WIlliam face a lot of time at home with their kids, will Kate be homeschooling George and Charlotte? Or have they hired someone to take over their schooling already?

People reports the following statement from a spokesperson for St. Thomas’s Battersea, the young royals’ school. “Due to the increasing numbers of children and staff being absent from school due to the Coronavirus situation, Thomas’s London Day Schools have decided to move to remote learning from Friday 20 March.”

“From this date the curriculum will be taught through online learning platforms and we have asked parents to keep their children at home and to access their lessons through this system. This will ensure that children have continuity of learning when they are unable to attend school.”

The spokesperson added that the school would be available as shelter through the end of the month for students who needed it: “In cases where families are not in a position to keep their children at home (such as those who are ‘front line staff’ in the medical profession, for example), the school will remain physically open.”

It sounds like Kate and William will now be faced with the same task as many parents across the world, adjusting to confinement in their living space with young children who themselves need to adjust to a whole new way of learning. Much luck to their — and everyone’s — families as we take on this new terrain.
