Kate Hudson is ready to put the holidays — and the holiday weight gain — behind her.
The 40-year-old actress took to Instagram to share that she, like many, gained some weight over the holidays. She went on to weigh herself in one of the story videos, reveal how much above her ideal weight she is, and share her plan to take it off.
“Got on the scale — I wasn’t impressed. But that’s okay, because I know how to do this,” said Hudson, who became a WW brand ambassador in December 2018, shortly after having her third child, daughter Rani.
Stepping on the scale, Hudson revealed she currently weighs 136 pounds, but estimated that three to five pounds of the weight is “mostly water.” She said her ideal weight is 125.
Of her ideal weight, Hudson — also mom to sons Bing, 8, and Ryder, 15 — made sure to note, “I’m a muscular frame so I weigh more even though I’m lean… important for people to understand that! Weight in muscle is a happy number.”
The Almost Famous star, who has her own line of athletic wear, Fabletics, said she planned to share how she will get back to her ideal weight — explaining that, so far, it involved sipping celery juice and black coffee, two things she said were zero points on her diet. For lunch she had shrimp with vinegar and garlic and baked veggies. That was followed by 30 minutes of cardio on a trampoline.
Hudson, who has a trainer, also does pilates, yoga, has a Peloton bike and has posted videos of herself using the Mirror.
