Kate Gosselin Feels Icky About Dating While Her Kids Are Dating

Apparently, when moms and teens date at the same time, it’s creepy. At least, that’s how Kate Gosselin feels about it.

“[The kids] have been asking me, ‘When are you going to start dating? I think you should go on a date,’ the Plus 8 mom told The Insider With Yahoo. "They know that it’s just me, and I’m lonely at times, so they actually have been saying it for a very, very long time.”

But there are two big things holding Kate back from looking for love: her teenage twins, Cara and Mady. “They’re 15 and talking about boys too and it just doesn’t feel normal to have mom and daughters dating,” she said, scrunching her nose. “That’s really creepy.”

Of course, Kate, who is also mom to 11-year-old sextuplets, hasn’t been totally solo since her split from husband Jon Gosselin in 2009. Since then, she was linked to her married bodyguard — a rumor they denied — and she recently broke things off with billionaire businessman Jeff Prescott.

Gosselin admitted she’s skeptical of any man who’d be interested in her: “I kind of think like, 'So, why me? Do you know that I have eight kids?’ Not that that’s a bad thing — it’s just a big thing. So I think a lot of my obstacles might be mental.”

But not all things are negative. Upon seeing footage from her new Kate Plus 8 special, airing tonight on TLC, and comparing it to the first few seasons of her reality series, she’s pleased. “I like this me better. A lot better,” she smiled.
