Her participation this time around was being kept as a midway surprise for season 2's remaining reality all-stars — though they're not the only ones who were shocked by her casting. Being in Scotland again stunned Chastain, too.

"What makes my return to The Traitors so exciting is that no one saw it coming … myself included!" she tells PEOPLE, noting that she never expected to be asked to play one more time.

Chastain goes on to say that she didn't hesitate to say yes. "I was willing to give it another go because I knew the cast this year was stacked with so many big, fun personalities," she says. "And let’s face it: when Alan Cumming invites you back to his castle, you go!"

The Traitors marks Chastain's third reality series since she welcomed son Sullivan Cay in May 2023. In the new trailer for The Traitors, it's clear Chastain doesn't waste any time getting down to business. "Tell me everything, who do we hate?" she asks the table after Cumming introduces her to the group.

"I think you missed me," Chastain then teases in a confessional.
