On an episode of his Life is Short podcast, Long and Bosworth recalled the actor's "romantic and honest and loving proposal."
The Blue Crush alum explained that the pair had recently gone through a rough patch. They even spoke to a therapist, who told them they should be "pretty consistently asking the other what you need, or asking the other what they need."
Bosworth said that one morning, she asked Long what he needed. "And he really looked at me and he said, 'To spend my life with you,' " she recalled.

The couple celebrated Long's birthday in the Galápagos Islands. It had been the Accepted actor's "childhood dream" to visit the tropical destination known for its tortoises and iguanas and a wide array of plant species.

During an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, Long revealed why he wasn't wearing his wedding band.
"I lost it, unfortunately," he told the audience, who groaned in disappointment. "Oh, okay, I didn’t have to reveal that! I could have just said I left it backstage!"

"You made so many people smile with your warmth and curiosity. You rode horses again and they helped you heal. You overwhelmed a boy when you first called him 'husband' and made him feel luckier than he’s ever felt," Long wrote.
