Kate Beckinsale Reveals Hilarious Unknown Jane Austen Novels

Kate Beckinsale stopped by the Late Show With Stephen Colbert to promote her new movie, Love and Friendship, which was adapted from the Jane Austen novel Lady Susan. Most people are familiar with some of Jane Austen’s more popular work, like Pride and Prejudice, but as Colbert informed everyone, she wrote many novels that might surprise you.

Kate and Stephen went back and forth reading the funny titles of fake Jane Austen books such as “Prejudice and More Prejudice,” “Sense and Sensibility 2: Locked and Loaded,” and “Leather and Lathering.” While Colbert did an OK job reading the titles, Beckinsale made the novels seem way more authentic with her delightful English accent. The Underworld star’s pronunciation of lathering tickled Colbert. When Kate asked if she pronounced it the wrong way, Stephen hilariously responded, “No, it’s a perfect way.”
