Kash Doll, Akademiks and More Respond To Kendrick Lamar's Second Drake Diss '6:16 In LA'

Kendrick Lamar is really keeping his foot on Drake’s neck. On Friday (May 3), the Compton emcee released another Drizzy diss track entitled “6:16 in LA.” The song contained claims that Drake has offered money to folks in exchange for dirt on Kendrick, but came up empty-handed. K. Dot also suggested that Drake has snitches in his camp.

9th Wonder

Legendary hip hop producer and DJ 9th Wonder gave Kendrick Lamar major props. “How you gonna make one diss record, to set up Easter eggs for the next diss record … This guy is Marvel Movie-ing his diss records,” he wrote on X.

Kash Doll

On “6:16 in LA,” Kendrick warns Drake that there are liars in his camp his rapping: “Conspiracies about cash, dawg, that’s not even the leak/ Find the jewels like Kash Doll, I just need you to think.” Of course, Kash Doll wondered how she got in it before agreeing with a fan that Kendrick was referencing the time her jewelry was stolen.

Punch

SZA’s manager and Kendrick Top Dawg Entertainment peer Punch tweeted his observation about the Kendrick vs. Drake beef and his thoughts on people having agendas.

DJ Akademiks

Even though DJ Akademiks calls Drake a friend, he was elated to be mentioned on “6:16 in LA.” On the track, Kendrick says: “Yeah, somebody’s lyin’/I could see the vibes on Ak’/Even he lookin’ compromised/Let’s peel the layers back.”

Scottie Beam

Media personality Scottie Beam said that “Kendrick really sent a ‘LOOK AT ME.. no.. seriously… you really don’t want to do this with me..’ record.”

Metro Boomin

Shortly before Kendrick dropped “6:16 in LA,” Metro Boomin tweeted “Thank God For The Day!” This statement led folks to believe that he knew a second diss track was coming.

Carl Chery

On X, Spotify’s Head of Urban Music Carl Chery wrote: “Kendrick Lamar has people dissecting a diss song at 6 a.m. PST. I’m supposed to get ready for work.”

Sowmya Krishnamurthy

Music journalist author Sowmya Krishnamurthy praised Kendrick Lamar’s possible biblical reference with the title “6:16 in LA,” declaring that the emcee “is different.”

Writer and culture critic Jamilah Lemieux simply stated on X that Drake “needs some new friends after all.” This is in reference to Kendrick claiming Drake’s camp has leaks in it as well as to Drake’s song with DJ Khaled titled “No New Friends.”
