Kardashian Family Makeup Artist Hrush Achemyan Opens Up About Stage 1 Ovarian Cancer Diagnosis

Celebrity makeup artist Hrush Achemyan is opening up about her silent battle with ovarian cancer.

The makeup pro, known for her close work with the Kardashian family, shared a raw photo of her inflamed belly on Instagram with a caption that read, "Putting all the Rumors to Rest." She continued: "Watch my journey as I battle cancer. It was extremely hard for me to share this journey with everyone after 2 months of contemplating, I mustered up to courage to post the video."

In an 18-minute long video shared on YouTube, Achemyan explained that during her annual gynecological pap smear, a mass was discovered in her left ovary and she was diagnosed with stage 1 ovarian cancer after five biopsies. "This is swelling of my cervix," she explained as she lifted up her shirt to show her stomach. "I'm not pushing it out. It's super hard. I'm not pregnant. It just looks crazy."

The video continued with Achemyan going to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles to visit OBGYN Dr. Thais Aliabadi, the same doctor who delivered Kylie Jenner's daughter Stormi Webster and Khloé Kardashian's daughter True Thompson.

"I'm on my way to have a small procedure done which Dr. Thais Aliabadi. I can't stress enough for you guys to get checked out annually and be tip-top shape. Ovarian cancer is a silent and deadly killer. It doesn't discriminate. When you find out it is a little too late but thank you Lord for having this amazing doctor in my life," Achemyan said.

After the procedure, Achemyan said she was feeling pain "like the worst period you had in your life," but she kept a positive mindset. "Better that than anything else," she said. Ultimately, after much contemplation, the star felt a sense of freedom by sharing her honest story with the world.

"I'm crying because I'm happy. I never knew I could be this person that could even express this much emotionally with you all. Especially because I've been brought up to be very private," she said. "It's so crazy to me that I feel so free now."

The next day, Achemyan filmed an update to show how much the swelling on her stomach had gone down since having the mass removed. "This is the next day of surgery and look how much it has gone down. No more swelling," she said.

She ended the video by saying, "We have to check in a month if the mass grows back but for now I am ok."
