Kanye West shares throwback photo from high school yearbook

Kanye West began racking up awards at an early age — just check his high school yearbook.

The 39-year-old rapper shared a nostalgic high school yearbook photo on Twitter on Monday, with the caption "class of 95." A teenage West is shown leaning over what appears to be a drawing. "Kanye West puts the finishing touches on one of his many pieces of award winning artwork," the page reads.

West has said he sees himself as more than a rapper. In fact, after West graduated from Polaris High School in Oak Lawn, Illinois, he attended Chicago's American Academy of Art for painting before transferring to Chicago State University, where his late mother, Donda, was the English department chair. He started his producing and rap career in the mid-'90s, breaking through in 2000 by making beats for Jay Z ("This Can't Be Life") and Beanie Sigel ("The Truth").

Of course, West also oversees the Yeezy fashion line at Adidas. Season 4
