Kanye West Tries Out Titanium Teeth

Update: 4:46 p.m. ET (January 19, 2024) – Kanye West still has his real teeth and had a set of titanium dentures placed over them.

Kanye West has kicked off the new year with a big change, as the rapper has reportedly replaced his teeth with titanium ones.

According to an exclusive photo obtained by DailyMail, the rapper can be seen sporting the metal on the top and bottom rows of his gums. The surgical procedure reportedly cost West a whopping $850,000, with a source claiming that the rapper’s new grill was “more expensive than diamonds.”

The titanium teeth, which were designed by West, were reportedly implanted by Beverly Hills surgeon Dr. Thomas Connelly, who gushed of his experience having the hitmaker as a patient. “Ye was a pleasure to work with every step of the process,” Connelly told DailyMail.

“His vision for designing unique art transcends the dental progression. The marriage of his vision with dental science has created a new look that is epic!'” In addition to Dr. Connelly, Master Dental Technician Naoki Hayashi also assisted in the procedure.

On Wednesday (Jan. 17), the 46-year-old posted a photo of himself wearing his new grill on his Instagram Story. West later alluded to his new mouthpiece being inspired by the James Bond villain Jaws in a subsequent post, in which he shared a screenshot of results from a Google search of the character.

This isn’t the first time that West has made an alteration to his teeth. The Chicago native previously had diamond and gold implanted in his mouth in 2010. In 2018, West made headlines when he revealed that he had underwent a liposuction procedure in 2016, which he says led to his development of an opioid addiction during his recovery.

On the musical front, Kanye West is currently gearing up for the release of Vultures, his collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign. The album, which has suffered numerous delays, is currently slated for release on Feb. 9.
