Kanye West Endorses Donald Trump During Concert, Vows To Run Against Him in 2020
Kanye West says he would have voted for Trump on Election Day, if only he had voted.
But West also announced, during one of several political breaks in his Thursday night concert in San Jose, CA, that he would run for POTUS in 2020 — in which case he’s likely to be running against Trump. West previously made headlines saying he might make a run at the White House in 2020.
At last night’s concert, West assured fans he thinks he will have the experience to run for office by then.
“I told y’all I didn’t vote, right? But if I would’ve voted I would’ve voted for Trump,” West told concert-goers, explaining he did something even better than voting, using “nonpolitical methods to speaking that I like, that I feel were very futuristic.”
“That method of communication has proven that it can beat a politically correct way of communication,” he elaborated. “I actually think that his approach was absolutely genius. Because it f*cking worked!”
Hinting at his 202o platform, West recommended Trump hire Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama as consultants, explaining, “We should use opposite parties. Everyone that ran, that had an idea that people agreed with, should be the collective ideas that are used to run the country.”
West fans know to steel themselves for these breaks in West performances, while the rapper gets things off his chest. But Thursday’s interruptions reportedly tried his fans too hard, with some ticket buyers exercising their First Amendment rights by throwing things at him onstage.
“I hate the fact that because I’m a celebrity, everybody told me not to say that I loved the debates. I loved his approach,” West complained, praising Trump for a debate style that inspired racists to express themselves openly.
“Sometimes things you might think are bad have to happen, in order for change to f*cking happen,” West explained.
News reports by those in attendance said, and video of the event seemed to confirm, the boos heavily outweighed the cheers at times. “I guess we’re not going to sell out the rest of the tour now,” West forecast during one such pause in the music.
