Kanye West has addressed Nicki Minaj’s refusal to clear a verse from their 2020 collab “New Body.”

During his Thursday (Dec. 14) rave event in Las Vegas, he blasted Minaj for not clearing her verse and helping him as he’s helped her in the past, in footage obtained by TSR.

“I made that girl rewrite her verse three times for ‘Monster,'” he spoke of his smash hit. “I supported her career, so I don’t [know] what it is, but we gon’ get this record, or we just ain’t gon’ put sh*t out!”

See below.

Minaj’s refusal came after the Chicago producer sent her a text message requesting her clearance, as he wants the viral track on his new album.

“Hi it’s ye. May I call you about clearing new body on the new album,” he texted and shared on X after going ghost from the Elon Musk platform.

However, his screenshot showed no response from the “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” artist.

In response to Ye’s sentiments, Minaj went live and explained that her current focus is pushing her newest album, Pink Friday 2, which dropped on her birthday (Dec. 8).

Speaking of Yeezy’s request, Minaj said, “Now regarding Kanye… that train has left the station, okay? No disrespect in any way. I just put out a brand-new album. Now why would I put out a song that has been out for three years? C’mon guys.”

In the track Minaj raps, “Hey yo, you ain’t f**k me, you f**ked the old body/ You ain’t f**k Nicki, you f**ked Nicole body/ Ain’t no miles on this here new body/ Off with their heads, these bi**hes is nobodies.”

In an interview on Hot 106 last year, Minaj also explained what happened to the record, which has been plastered all over TikTok and elsewhere.

“Let me tell you something about that…I respect everybody and where they are in life, where they are spiritually,” she started. “Had ‘New Body’ been out when he was not in his gospel era, then it would’ve seen the light of day. But, it didn’t, so it wasn’t meant to be.”

She added, “Everybody knows that’s the hit that got away. … I think the ship has sailed for ‘New Body,’ everybody has come to love the original way they heard it.”
