Kandi Burruss Reacts to New Real Housewives of Atlanta Cast
Bravo took a while to figure out what would happen with Season 16 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. However, now that our Georgia peaches are confirmed to be in the process of getting things kicked off, the fans’ excitement is growing with each passing day. Although some watchers aren’t sure how they’ll feel without Marlo Hampton and Shereé Whitfield in the mix, others are looking forward to the new era.
Kandi Burruss, who announced her departure earlier this year after 14 seasons, spoke with E! News about the cast and said she’s “excited” about what’s to come with the future of RHOA. “I’m excited for Shamea [Morton], who is our friend, and I’m glad it’s announced, so I don’t have to keep secrets anymore. I’m gonna be watching because my friends are still on the show.”
The 2x Grammy winner also pointed to Porsha Williams‘ highly anticipated return as another reason she’s eager to see the new season. The reality star posted about her return to the show in February 2024. “She was telling me how she was thinking she might go back. So we knew. I am excited for her,” Kandi said.
Kandi is looking forward to having a stress-free year away from the Housewives
Long-time fans of the Bravo series will know that despite Kandi’s attempts to stay away from the drama, her co-stars always found a way to loop her into the mess. Elsewhere, during her chat with E!, the icon delved into the one thing she won’t miss about filming the reality series.
“I’m not necessarily gonna miss that stress,” she said. “They started filming this week. I was talking to one of them—I can’t say who it was—but she was like, ‘Girl, it’s just a lot.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I don’t know if I missed that part.’ I forgot about that first stress of getting the ball rolling when you’re meeting new people.”
However, she explained that she would miss spending precious time with some of her closest friends, saying “the camaraderie” was something special because they were all part of “something great.”
