Kandi Burruss Joins BET+ Holiday Film ‘Whatever It Takes’ Starring Tami Roman

Kandi Burruss has joined the cast for the BET+ original holiday film Whatever It Takes, according to Deadline. The award-winning singer, songwriter, reality star, actress, and businesswoman will hit the small screen alongside Tami Roman just in time for Christmas.
According to the Whatever It Takes’ synopsis, the plot builds during Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas, and into the New Year. In the Tailiah Breon-directed film, four women are “navigating careers, life and the nuances of friendship” as they “bond over the imperfections in their love lives.”
Ultimately, the characters in the movie experience “some of their greatest wishes and most profound losses” over the holiday season.
In a statement to Deadline, the Xscape member said, “I’m so excited to be working with this incredibly talented cast on such a heartwarming movie, which truly captures the holiday spirit and the importance of sisterhood.”
Burruss joins Roman, who also produced the film, as well as Brely Evans, Kendrick Cross, Rayan Lawrence, Zuri James, Stevie Baggs Jr, Linda Boston, Monica Robinson, and AJ Akua Johnson.
The movie’s producer, Jill Ramsey, stated, “Tami and I were thrilled when Kandi agreed to join us for Whatever It Takes. We are excited for the audience to see how she lit up our screens in such a multifaceted role. They are going to love seeing her as much as we do.”
Burruss’ acting credits include a plethora of TV shows including the award-winning Showtime series The Chi, BET’s Á La Carte, HBO’s Insecure, and more. On the producer end, the 47-year-old has EP’d The Pass, SWV & XSCAPE: The Queens of R&B, her own show Kandi & The Gang, and more.
Most recently, Burruss and her husband Todd have joined the production team for the forthcoming broadway remake of The Wiz.
