Kamaiyah Arrested After TSA Altercation

She was charged with “interfering with police” after refusing to remove a head cover in security

Kamaiyah was arrested earlier today after an altercation with TSA agents at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut, as local CBS affiliate WFSB reports. The rapper was reportedly asked by TSA to remove a head cover after it set off an alarm. When she refused, she was pulled aside and told she couldn’t proceed through security and board her flight unless she allowed the head cover to be inspected. When Kamiayah refused further, allegedly using “vulgar language” with the agents, she was arrested.

Kamaiyah was charged with “interfering with police and second-degree breach of peace.” She was released on $5,000 bond. CNN reports that in tweets (that have since been deleted), she wrote, “I'm never going to Hartford Connecticut again I had to bail out of jail for wearing a bonnet in their airport that showed me enough about what type of place it is.” Pitchfork has reached out to representatives for Kamaiyah for more information.
