Kaley Cuoco Shares Relatable Parenting Moment on 9-Month-Old Daughter Matilda’s First Flight

Kaley Cuoco is getting real about motherhood!

The actress, 38, shared a funny account of trying to get her 9-month-old daughter Matilda to sleep on her first flight over Thanksgiving during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday.

“I was so terrified,” Cuoco told Kimmel. “So I thought, ‘What do we do? We have to bring her sound machine on the plane.' It’s the only thing she can go to sleep to.”

The star continued, “So she’s crying. It was hard. She finally falls asleep and she’s on Tom [Pelphrey, Cuoco's partner and Matilda's father] and the sound machine is on and we were finally like [sighs].”

“The steward comes over and he’s like, ‘Hey, one of our passengers would love it if you would turn the sound machine off.’ And I’m sitting there, and I’m like, ‘Oh my god,’ ” Cuoco recalled.

“And I can feel Tom be like, ‘Hey, ask the passenger if she wants to hold our screaming child when we turn it off.’ And I mean, the ice went into his veins.”

“I couldn’t believe, by the way, she asked us to turn it off!” the Based on a True Story star added.

“That is so crazy,” responded Kimmel, 56. “And what a terrible job to have to be a flight attendant and have to deliver a message of that type.”

“We were so angry,” Cuoco said. “So then we landed, and it was the woman right in front of us. And so we get up and she goes, ‘Oh, so your daughter does know how to smile.’ ”

“It was in that moment where I understood why women end up on Dateline,” Cuoco quipped to Kimmel.

The actress added that she, “could have thrown that woman off the plane” and shared her compassion for those flying with babies.

“You see all these things on social media where people are really, truly getting mad at these babies. Like, justice for babies! This is ridiculous … leave them alone!” Cuoco said as the audience cheered.

Earlier this month, Cuoco shared one of her daughter's more adorable moments with a sweet snap to kick off the new year. The picture shows a smiling Matilda in a flower-printed onesie alongside a flower emoji.

Meanwhile, Cuoco opened up to PEOPLE in December about how becoming a mom has made her more in tune with her emotions.

"Tom and I were sitting with Matilda the other day, and she was literally staring at us, and she touched both of our faces, and just gave us this innocent, just really joyful, 'Hi' smile," Cuoco said.

"I mean, I could cry right now," she continued. "We both looked at each other and we started tearing up. He goes, 'Is this our life now, where we just cry at everything she does?' "
