Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits Season 2 Announced With New Teaser Visual
Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits will officially return with season 2. On Wednesday, May 1, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the anime television series announced, with a new teaser visual, that the adaptation’s second season is in the making. With an apology note that says, “Sorry, I made you wait!” the anime revealed that Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits, also known as Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi, season 2, will begin airing in Fall 2025.

Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits is available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The anime streaming platform describes the series as “After losing her grandfather, Aoi—a girl who can see spirits known as ayakashi—is suddenly approached by an ogre. Demanding she pay her grandfather’s debt, he makes a huge request: her hand in marriage! Refusing this absurd offer, Aoi decides to work at the Tenjin-ya bed and breakfast for the ayakashi to pay back what her family owes.”
Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi season 1 premiered in April 2018 and finished airing in September 2018. Yoshiko Okuda directed the anime at Studio Gonzo, and Tomoko Konparu worked on the script. Also, season 1 ran across 26 episodes.
After a gap of six years, and much to the amazement of fans, the series is unexpectedly getting a second season. Midori Yuna, the author of the Kakuriyo light novel series, shared an illustration on their X (formerly Twitter) account to mark the occasion.
Midori Yuna and Laruha released the light novel series in 2015, following which Waco Ioka illustrated the manga. Additionally, Tsugaru Toba began illustrating a new manga adaptation of the series in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius Magazine in 2023. Furthermore, Viz Media published the English version of the manga.
