Kacey Musgraves Documents Her Less-Than-Ideal Trip to Iceland: 'Are We Having Fun?'

The Grammy winner was met with imperfect weather at the Blue Lagoon

Kacey Musgraves’ latest vacation wasn’t entirely what she imagined.

On Thursday, the singer, 35, published a video on TikTok and Instagram, poking fun at how her recent vacation to Iceland has been less-than-ideal.

The video begins with a photo of the popular destination spot, the Blue Lagoon with the text “POV: your first time at Blue Lagoon Iceland.” It continues with a Getty image of the Icelandic geothermal spa with vacationers relaxing with the caption, “what you’re hoping for.”

Musgraves’ video continues with short clips of her and her friends battling the winds and rain at the lagoon. The women protected their cups while maintaining their balance in the aggressive waves.

As the video continues, Musgraves pokes fun at her reaction to the intense and imperfect weather by sharing a video of her asking other tourists if they “know where the steam caves are.” Musgraves’ intention to find the caves continued even after she left the lagoon, with her Instagram caption posing the same question.

"Are we having fun?" she asked in her TikTok caption.

In a series of photos that got increasingly closer to the singer, Musgraves appeared to struggle with her accessories in the middle of the lagoon.

Before sharing the video, the "Justified" singer posted a series of Instagram Story posts that included her battling the waves. As the singer navigates the rocky waters, she holds her beer, ear warmer, and sunglasses tightly to her chest.

In more Instagram Story posts, Musgraves shared honest reactions to the weather and waves, posting videos of her screaming in the environment.

Musgraves added an additional Instagram Story on Thursday, sharing a projected video of the Northern Lights. "Closest I got to seeing Northern Lights here SMFH," she captioned the picture.

While Musgraves’ most recent vacation didn’t meet her expectations, her birthday vacation in August left her surprised.

For her 35th birthday, the “High Horse” singer’s boyfriend, Cole Schafer, secretly invited a few of her closest friends to join her on vacation. Schafer invited her friends to arrive in disguise.

Musgraves documented the hilarious proceedings on her Instagram Story, including photos of the “ridiculous” disguises Lucie Silvas, Natalie Osborne and other friends wore to the airport.

Once they arrived in Chicago, more of her friends were waiting for her, including Brothers Osborne's John Osborne, TJ Osborne and his boyfriend Abi Ventura, and Fancy Hagood.
