Musgraves’ sweet remarks about Schafer came two months after they were first spotted together in New York City. As the pair's romance continued to blossom, they would consistently gush about one another on social media.

In December 2023, Us Weekly confirmed that Musgraves and Schafer split after two years of dating.

“They weren’t seeing eye to eye in terms of where they are in life right now and decided to end things,” a source exclusively told Us.
