The agencies remembered him as “a sweet and warm friend to all,” who “shined beautifully with a passionate passion for acting.”

Lee Jihan appeared on the South Korean singing competition from CJ E&M, “Produce 101” in 2017. Although he wasn’t chosen for the boy band, Wanna One, it helped launch his career. He went on to star in the 2019 TV series “Today Was Another Nam Hyun Day,” in which he played the title character, Shin Nam Hyun.

Former Produce 101 contestants Park Heeseok, Kim Do-hyun and Cho Jin Hyung paid tribute to him in a joint statement, Billboard reports. “Jihan has left this world and gone to a comfortable place. We ask that you say goodbye to him on his final path.”

South Korea’s government has said it will offer support for funeral expenses for all the victims. AllKPop reports that Jihan’s funeral will be held on Nov. 1.
