After months of teasing her sixth studio album I’m The Problem, K. Michelle has chosen to exclusively release the album’s trailer with VIBE on Friday (Sept. 15).

The minute-long clip — which sees the “Wherever the D May Land” songstress attending a romantic dinner in the woods — shows Michelle dressed in yellow, while putting on display how she can be “the problem.”

The Des Gray-directed trailer begins with the Memphis-native riding with her love interest to a surprise dinner as she complains the entire time. “Where are we going?” she yells at her man as he tries to keep the surprise under wraps. However, the couple gets into it as Michelle begins fussing to her man, leading him to say, “You the problem, you “f**king everything up.” At one point she grabs the wheel, causing their truck to swerve.

Once the disgruntled couple arrives to their intimate dinner, the boyfriend tries to save the date with a gift for his lady. However, Michelle continues to complain, pointing out that the “box of problems” isn’t a ring or a house — causing her man to leave the dinner early.

Speaking with VIBE back in March, the multifaceted star spoke on what fans can expect from I’m The Problem. Michelle, who toured the LP in March, revealed that not only would this album see her country music passions through — she’ll also channel her childhood persona “Puddin.”

“I think the beginning tracks just represent how I started and where I’m at now and where I’m going,” she said about the flow of the album, before sharing her plans to dominate country music as a Black woman. “I am definitely doing country music and I’m getting this R&B album out. We are gearing up for that. And country is something that I think is a lifestyle and it’s something that I do. So that’s always in me and it’s something that’s going to be presented.”

“We are usually our own biggest enemy,” she noted when asked if the concept behind the album is based on self-accountability or what others think of her. “So you have to take accountability for the things that you do that might be emotional or might not be right. But even in those things, you can be accepting of who you are.”

I’m The Problem releases on Sept. 22.
