Grammy, Dove and K-LOVE Fan award-winning Christian musician and worship leader Brandon Lake is set to co-host the K-LOVE Fan Awards at Nashville's Opry House with award-winning podcaster, actress and author Sadie Robertson Huff of "Duck Dynasty" fame.

During a recent interview, we asked Lake what viewers might expect from this year's show.

Without hesitation, he affirmed: "Well, one thing you can expect is Brandon Lake in a leopard suit."

I'm sorry, what?

"As soon as they asked me to co-host the awards, I went online shopping and I found this amazing leopard print, like, really nice suit," Lake said. "And, uh, I'm pretty fired up about it."

Huff laughed, saying that Lake definitely cares about his outfits more than she does hers.

"That has been the funniest thing, because every call he's like, 'So what outfits are we going to wear?'" she said. "And it's hilarious. Brandon would say, 'OK, I'm going to send you my outfit so we can kind of collaborate.' And of course his outfits are just out of this world. He's just his own person, and I'm like, how in the world am I supposed to collaborate with this? So we've had a lot of funny talks over outfits."

But with Lake, there's also the hair. The trademark long, curly locks that seem always to set a tone, whether untamed, pulled up in a man bun or tightly woven into French braids. So what are Lake's plans for the hair on awards night?

"My goal was, can I show up with my hair down?" he said. "Then for a second look, I come back out with it up in a bun. And then, how fast could someone, while there's a few performances happening, how fast could someone braid my hair? And I come back out at the end with a full-braided head."

Wanna know if he makes it all work? You'll have to tune in when the show airs May 31 on TBN.

First-time host said he might 'go rogue'

While neither Lake nor Huff are new to the stage or nominations or winning awards, this is the first time hosting an awards show for both of them (both are also nominees this year). They promise a mix of their own flair that stays true to the theme of this year's show — encouragement — and also stands on the shoulders of the hosts that have come before them. (Lake said he called last year's host, Tauren Wells, to ask fashion advice.)

"When they called and asked me to host, I was honored, floored, humbled — and scared to death," Lake said. "Honestly, I'm a little afraid for K-LOVE and TBN because, I don't know, I could go rogue and just start preaching and go off the script and they'll just have to deal with it and chop it up later."

Huff added that in preparation for the show, she and Lake tried to figure out what it is that makes their partnership unique. She said they both feel passionate about their families and wanted them somehow to be involved.

"His wife, my husband, our kids, our even extended family, like how can we bring them to be a part of it?" she said. "So we're hoping to add a family element that maybe hasn't been done before. We have some serious notes of just honoring people well and making people feel the love that they deserve and get the round of applause that they deserve. Maybe people that aren't expecting it."
