Justin Timberlake has unveiled a new song called “Selfish.” Timberlake performed the track during an intimate, one-night-only show in his hometown of Memphis on Friday (Jan. 19).

The singer was dressed in a black and white suit as he performed the track. While much wasn’t revealed in videos capturing the night, the song appears to be an ode to wanting a significant other all to themselves. “So if I get jealous, I can’t help it/ I want every bit of you, I guess I’m selfish,” JT sings on the R&B-inspired number. “It’s bad for my mental, but I can’t fight it.”

Additionally, Justin dropped an accompanying trailer for his upcoming album, Everything I Thought It Was, on his social media platforms. The teaser for his sixth LP featured Wes Anderson-style color-grading, tone, and mood. JT can be seen staring at a gas station while a narrator, played by Benicio Del Toro, details the visuals.

“What do we have here? Oh, that’s a nice car—wait, it’s a model,” Del Toro said, looking at the mini figurines. “Did that say JT? OK, that sunset is definitely not real. Ah, there’s Justin. Why won’t he turn around? What the f**k is he staring at?”

The teaser abruptly ends before cutting away to the LP’s title name. “Justin Timberlake Presents: Everything I Thought It Was,” glowing yellow words read.

The GRAMMY award-winning musician dropped more clues about his next era with a mini Instagram Reel. Justin’s hand is seen in the video sticking sticky notes on a table with a caption tagging Saturday Night Live. The video confirms that the artist will make an appearance on SNL on Saturday (Jan. 27) alongside actress Dakota Johnson.

JT’s rollout for his new era began when he changed his avatar on his IG in early January. In the picture, Timberlake’s eyes appear glossy as he looks at the audience from a car’s rearview mirror.

He then teased a new song called “Sanctified” during an NFL commercial for the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers playoff match. “Sanctified” appears to be a hard-hitting pop song inspired by gospel music. “Can I get a witness?” Justin sings with a choir belting out their vocals on the track.

“Selfish” and “Sanctified” currently don’t have release dates. Fans can pre-save “Selfish” on digital streaming platforms in anticipation of its release.
