Timberlake spent the rest of 2015 flexing the fact he had a son on Instagram

On Father's Day, Timberlake posted a picture of himself carrying Silas on Instagram and captioned the post: "FLEXIN' on Fathers Day... #HappyFathersDay to ALL of the Dads out there from the newest member of the Daddy Fraternity!! --JT."

On Christmas Day, Timberlake shared another picture of himself with Silas.

This time he captioned the post: "This life... Truly the GREATEST gift ever. Hoping you are spending time with the ones you cherish and remembering that we are ALL family. Sending love from ours to yours. Merry Christmas, everyone!! --J and J and S."

In 2017, they dressed up as characters from "Toy Story." Timberlake went as Buzz Lightyear, while Biel and Silas dressed up as Jessie and Woody, respectively.

In 2016, Timberlake told the Philippine Daily Inquirer that "Fatherhood is super scary."

"Because you don't know what the hell you're doing," the "Mirrors" singer added. "But you figure things out as you go. It does give your life a different meaning, and lights you up in a way that you never imagined. I feel like the real success of parenthood is getting to wake up the next day and fail all over again. It's humbling, for sure."

He also told the publication that he would consider a kids' album for his son.

A year later, Timberlake told The Hollywood Reporter that he struggled during the first year of parenting.

"At first, it broke me down. Those first eight months felt like those old [Ed Sullivan] shows where people are balancing spinning plates on poles — except if you drop one, they die." He said.

The "Trolls" actor also said he wasn't sure yet whether he wanted his son Silas to follow in his footsteps as an entertainer.

"If he wanted it bad enough, I suppose I could teach him a lot about what not to do," Timberlake added.

Timberlake shared several touching Father's Day Instagram posts after Silas' birth

In June 2018, Timberlake captioned an Instagram post of him carrying Silas: "The last 3 years of my life have brought more joy than I could ever imagine. Being a father is such a trip... an amazing discovery every day. My son: it is my honor to be your Daddy."

The musician continued: "You make me feel a love that I didn't know existed. I will ALWAYS be there... to pick you up when you fall, to lift you up when you are ready to soar, and to remind you that your humility will be your guide through this thing called life. And to all the Dads out there: Keep on keeping on! Our children are watching and listening more than we know! I'm celebrating you all today! Happy Father's Day! Cheers!"

In another Father's Day post in 2020, Timberlake said he and Biel try to teach Silas about not treating people differently based on the color of their skin.

"We try to teach our son to love and to respect everyone — we teach him that all people are all created equal, and that no one should be treated differently because of the color of their skin. We teach him this because one day, he will go on to teach his kids the same," Timberlake wrote. "It's a cycle. And right now, as we all work to undo generations of discrimination that have plagued our system and our communities across this country... I'm reminded today that the first lessons start at home."

This comment was likely in response to the killing of George Floyd a month beforehand which sparked conversations about racism in America.

Biel said that parenting Silas was a 'joy'

In April 2020, Biel shared a birthday Instagram post for Silas for the child's 5th birthday.

She captioned the post: "This little man is 5 today! We're at home, covered in legos and birthday cake right now... but I just found this pic on my phone from last summer and it made me so happy...Scroll through your old pictures today and post something that brings you a little bit of joy! Sending lots of love to you all..."

Biel also promoted the charities Save the Children and Feeding America in the post.

In December 2020, while promoting a WomenCare Global campaign on the "Today" show, Biel was positive about parenting her firstborn.

"He's wonderful. He's just a joy. It's an amazing, amazing experience," She said before adding. "Incredibly hard, the hardest job in the world and I've never been more thankful and grateful to my own mother."

The "7th Heaven" actor continued: "Oh, my gosh I'm going to call her right after this actually and just thank her. What you have to do for your kid — it's an amazing responsibility and the biggest joy ever."

Meanwhile, Timberlake faced backlash after complaining that '24-hour parenting is just not human' during the quarantine period of the pandemic

In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, families were all forced to stay home to combat the spread of the virus.

During an appearance on SiriusXM's "The Morning Mash Up" show, Timberlake told hosts that he and Biel were having trouble quarantining with Silas.

"We're mostly commiserating over the fact that just 24-hour parenting is just not human," Timberlake said, before telling hosts that he felt Silas needed a break from him just as much as he needed a break from Silas.

Fans and parents criticized Timberlake at the time for the comments, saying it was "tone deaf" for someone with his wealth and privilege to complain.

The couple welcomed their second son, Phineas Timberlake, in 2020

In the summer of 2020, there were reports from numerous publications including the Daily Mail that Biel and Timberlake had welcomed a second child.

Other celebrities, such as Jimmy Fallon and Lance Bass, had mentioned the baby in interviews but it wasn't until January 2021 that Timberlake finally confirmed that his wife had given birth to a second child.

Speaking on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Timberlake said the host was the first to know Biel was pregnant. Timberlake also revealed the baby's name, Phineas.

"He's awesome and he's so cute and nobody's sleeping," Timberlake continued. "But we're thrilled and couldn't be happier. Very grateful."

When asked how parenting has changed with two children instead of one, Timberlake said: "We don't see each other anymore. It's a lot of fun, but I guess the saying goes, you go from a zone defense to a man-to-man really quickly. Sort of like split, 'You go get that one, I'll get this one!'"

The "SexyBack" singer continued: "Silas is super excited. Right now, he's very much liking it. Phin can't walk yet or chase him down, so I don't know. We'll see what happens."

Biel said she and Timberlake forgot how to raise a baby after Phineas was born

In June 2021, Biel confirmed that Phineas was born during the summer of 2020 during an interview on the "Armchair Expert" podcast.

"He's almost 11 months," Biel said. "I had like a secret Covid baby. It wasn't like it was supposed to be a secret. It was just Covid happened and then I went to Montana with my family and never left."

Biel said that she and Timberlake had forgotten what it was like to parent a baby so having a second child was a big change for her. She also said it was difficult to balance two kids.

"Someone said to me it is like having a thousand and that's exactly what it feels like. The balance of everything is very different and super hard," Biel said. "It's so funny the conversations I'm having now with my 6-year-old is so cool. Like, he's a real person saying the funniest stuff."

She continued: "And he's so sensitive and tender, and it's just so interesting to see that part of it happen. And the little one is just cute as hell."

In September 2021, while on the "Today" show, Biel elaborated on how she and Timberlake forgot how to raise a baby.

"I remember going, 'When does he eat real food? What kind of cream? What bathtub?' I felt like I forgot — it was amnesia. I started from scratch all over again, and I didn't expect that," The "Candy" actor said. "I just sort of thought, 'Well, I'm an expert now. You know, I've done this before, and I can do it again.' No, I needed a full education all over again."

Biel also said that while Silas finds his younger brother funny, there is one thing Phineas does that annoys his older brother.

"He also is starting to get irritated about him snatching his toys. We're in that mode," she said.

Timberlake said he tried to shield his children from the spotlight

During Timberlake's own appearance on the "Armchair Expert" podcast in January 2021, he and host Dax Shepard discussed raising kids while being celebrities.

Timberlake said during the interview that he wanted to attempt to shield his children from the backlash that comes with being famous.

"I try to be conscious of making sure we can live a life where we're not weirdly private, but we're conscious of making sure they can be kids for as long as possible and not have the weight of somebody else treating them differently because of something that their parents do," he said.

In June 2022, Timberlake called his 2 sons 'my 2 favorite melodies'

After Phineas' birth, Timberlake continued to share Instagram posts on Father's Day.

In a post in 2021, Timberlake wrote: "Being a dad is better than I ever could have imagined. Thankful to my dads and my grandfathers for leading the way, making the sacrifices for me to live out my dreams, and for teaching me that REAL LIFE happens in all the little moments. Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!!!"

In June 2022, the singer captioned a picture of his two sons playing on the piano: "My two favorite melodies."

During an interview with People in December 2022, Biel shared her family's Christmas routine.

"We spend Christmas all over the place," the "Total Recall" actor said, explaining that they do not have any traditions for the holidays but often spend some time in the holidays in the Caribbean.

She added: "Wherever we are, we will have some kind of tree and we will be up nice and early, and we will be enjoying that wonderful morning where they tear through a couple of presents and then get bored and don't want to do it anymore. Then you spend days and days of presents still under the tree."

Biel said that she often makes the children slow down so they do not become too overwhelmed.

"I find that Christmas is kind of overwhelming for kids," Biel shares. "It's a lot of pressure. There's a lot of eyeballs on them, and they've got a lot of stuff to do. So, I like to slow-roll it."

Biel admitted that she's nervous about her children becoming teenagers

In June 2023, Biel told Entertainment Tonight that she is worried about her two sons growing up into teenagers.

"I am devastatingly nervous about it," she said. "God, I mean it's terrifying. What's going to happen to these kids? What they have to go through with puberty, it's hard being a kid."

The actor continued: "I tell my 8-year-old that all the time. I'm like, 'Dude, it's hard being 8. I get it.' And then I'm gonna help him see that it's hard being 41. He's just looking at me like, 'What? You don't matter.'"
