Justin Timberlake can't speak or sing on 'Tonight Show,' but it's still amazing

Justin Timberlake is on vocal rest in order to protect his bruised vocal chords, but that didn’t stop the singer from showing up for an appearance on The Tonight Show to hang out with one of his best friends, Jimmy Fallon. And it was still super-entertaining.

Even though Timberlake couldn’t speak at all, he was still in good spirits. He first joked that he lost his voice due to running up a mountain and getting attacked by a bear, but then he completely changed his story to swimming in the ocean and getting attacked by a shark in his throat.

Timberlake also played Fallon’s hilarious game “Slow Turn, Tiny Nod,” which he was oddly really good at. Seriously, he has the creepiest wink ever! The Man of the Woods singer also let Fallon speak for him as they talked about Timberlake’s new book, called Hindsight: And All the Things I Can’t See in Front of Me — he held up an iPhone with prerecorded videos, made by Fallon beforehand, in front of his mouth.

Timberlake’s new memoir reveals the moment he met and fell in love with Jessica Biel, who’s now his wife. However, on Thursday night, Timberlake revealed that Biel actually “loves” that he can’t talk right now. Mrs. Timberlake then made a surprise appearance to hang with the bros, and together they played a game to find out who knows Timberlake better.

While Fallon got the first two wrong, there was one answer he knew that totally shocked Biel — Timberlake’s safe word, which is (spoiler alert) “pineapple.” As Timberlake pointed out, things just got weird.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC. Watch clips and full episodes of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for free on Yahoo View.
