Justin Theroux stepped out for a good cause on Friday night alongside actress Nicole Brydon Bloom.

The Mosquito Coast actor, 52, was one of the hosts for the Humane Society's To The Rescue! Gala in New York City and was photographed on the red carpet with his rescue pup Kuma.

The star wore a black suit with a matching tie for the event as he posed while holding Kuma’s multicolored leash. The adorable brown pit bull mix then sat patiently in front of Theroux while photographers took shots him solo and with gala co-host Amy Sedaris.

Bloom, 29, was also in attendance, though she and Theroux arrived separately. The Here On Out actress appeared to check into the event on her own, but was spotted sitting next to Theroux at his table. She appeared to take out her phone multiple times to snap photos and clips of him and Kuma when he went onstage to present.

The pair has been getting cozy around New York City over the past few months. Most recently, they were photographed leaving a gym together in late October. They also were spotted showing off some PDA in late August while out to dinner together at the Altro Paradiso restaurant in N.Y.C. with another couple.

Theroux and Bloom first sparked dating rumors after they attended a Netflix event together in February at the N.Y.C. club Zero Bond.

In addition to his Hollywood career, Theroux is passionate about animals. The actor has long advocated for rescuing animals, having worked with rescue groups including Austin Pets Alive! before welcoming a pet of his own. He shared in 2018 that he took in Kuma, who was found in the debris left by Hurricane Harvey in Texas, after hearing about her story through his advocacy work.

"TODAY! 5 years with this derpy!" he captioned his post, which featured a selfie of the pair and three adorable shots of Kuma.

The White House Plumbers star also included a message encouraging his followers to adopt and rescue dogs. "If you are considering getting a dog, please visit your local shelter," he wrote. "There are TENS OF THOUSANDS of Kumas out there that would love to make your life so much better."

Throughout the years, Theroux has also shared photos and videos of himself and the pup hanging out at bars and enjoying candlelit "date nights." He told PEOPLE in 2021 that his favorite activity with Kuma is "waking up" next to her.

"It's my favorite thing, cause she'll lay there like this," he said, imitating the pup lying in bed. "She fully puts her head on the pillows, I mean she sleeps like people. And it's really nice to wake up in the morning and have her right there with you."
